The 3 Greatest Oversights When Grilling, With Danver
by Robin Setser
Those who are proud owners of outdoor kitchens will tell you that grilling is done consistently. I am sure that few will argue with this point, especially when you see that grilling can prepare just about any food with the utmost effectiveness intact. For this to be done well, though, it's important to understand the mistakes that could rise to the surface. With the help of Danver, here are 3 of the greatest oversights associated with the act of grilling in the outdoors.
If you want to talk about typical grilling mistakes, overlooking a clean grill should be noted. It's been said that a grill is best when it is regularly maintained, so make it a point to keep it clean time and time again. Yes, this is important for sanitary purposes, which very few can overlook. However, I believe that it is just as important to focus on how a dirtier grill can lead to greater risk of food sticking, so keep this point in mind for the long term.
Many new cooks make the mistake of serving meat as soon as it comes off of the grill. The main reason why this is a problem has to do with the juices associated with various meats; the juices in question need time to become sealed. It's also worth noting that keeping meat out for just a short amount of time can give the fibers the opportunity to tenderize. When these endeavors are followed, it's clear that better dishes stand the chance of being prepared.
What if there are sauces and the like that can be added to the grilling process? Even though you may want to throw on a marinade or two, the truth of the matter is that these are best integrated later on in the cooking process. The extreme heat needed for grilling can burn away the flavors that these additions possess, which is a problem to say the least. Keep this in mind if you want to make sure that grilling is done as well as possible.
Without knowledge of errors like the ones mentioned before, grilling may not be done as well as it should be. Fortunately, it can be carried out well; it's just a matter of understanding the kinds of mistakes that others have made in the past. Keep in mind, though, that the points mentioned earlier only scrape the tip of the iceberg. It's important to continue learning, which can then play into grilling endeavors done with greater ease.
